2016 Junior Golf & Tennis Academies

Under the direction of Head Golf Professional Brent Naylor, Tennis Facilities Manager Ed Shanaphy and with the assistance of their skilled professional staff, junior instruction programs are fun and educational.  Golf and tennis camps are held throughout the year and are open to non-members.

Academies (tennis and golf) are scheduled weekly during the summer months.  Both are tailored to juniors at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of play. Our professional instructors combine key elements of each sport, for a well-rounded approach on the fundamentals, technique, etiquette and rules.

Payment Policy: In order to guarantee your spot in the sessions, payment must be received at the time of registration, prior to the start of each session.

The Dress Code
Clothing should be appropriate for a private country club.  Every junior and parent will be expected to follow the guidelines of the Suntree membership.  No sandals or flip-flops. Suntree Country Club’s Professional Staff are experienced in junior golf and tennis instruction and will teach your child the fundamentals and traditions of the game. Children should be no younger than 6 years of age.

Summer Camp

Camp Information

This summer your children will experience a unique, educational science-based summer camp that will focus on 12 fields of science with the hope of sparking their interest in science by participating in exciting experiments and activities. Our ultimate goal as a camp is to provide a nourishing environment that allows them to grow in the summer months and have lasting memories for years to come. Each week is also filled with various activities including swimming, field trips, golf & tennis instruction, arts & crafts, and much more!

Ages 4 through 11 are welcome.

Only 40 campers will be enrolled per week in order to provide a more rich environment. Once all spots are filled for a session, a first-come basis waiting list will be available. If a spot opens, you will be notified ASAP.

Field Trip Information
This year the field trips will be held on Fridays to ensure your young scientists are able to flourish in their scientific environment. One of the benefits of limiting the number of campers to 40 per week, is that parents have the opportunity to attend field trips! Space on the bus for parents is not guaranteed and, if available, will be on a first-come basis. Parents will be responsible for advanced payment which includes a bus fee.  If you are interested in attending any of the field trips, please email Hannah Fullem at least 2 weeks in advance in order to include you on the reservation.

Staffing Information
The Junior Programs staff goes through an extensive hiring process to ensure the safety of your children. Suntree Country Club is a drug-free work environment, all counselors are at least 18 years old, all are AED/CPR certified through the American Heart Association, and they are national background screened. Prior to camp, all counselors go through a training process to better their skills and abilities when working with children.
